The Blackjack Tomato

The Blackjack Tomato is greenhouse grown in an organically rich medium of topsoil, compost, leaf mold and sand. Our intent is to preserve the old fashioned, just-picked freshness of your own backyard tomatoes and supply the taste to you through the off-season. We want to meet our taste and quality standards without sacrificing respect for the environment, so we utilize Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices for greenhouses.

Growing pesticide-free requires more labor to scout, monitor and maintain a balance of beneficial insects to pests, but we believe our customers appreciate the natural approach. Besides, spraying pesticides in our greenhouse would kill our bumblebees, nature's best tomato pollinators.

Naturally raised, growing in the soil, and turning red from its own lycopenes (antioxidants which help protect against cancer) instead of ethylene gas sprays, the Blackjack Tomato is the tomato of choice for taste and freshness.
